Five Dock House 1

Five Dock House 1

New dwelling house and pool - Complying Development Certificate (CDC) - City of Canada Bay Council

This new dwelling was designed for a family in Five Dock. The brief indicated a desire for a highly tectonic, modern house, with a variety of finishes including exposed brick, timber and steel PFC's. The rectilinear design contributes a contemporary aesthetic to the streetscape, articulated by blade walls and slab edges with dark-painted steel PFCs fixed to the projections.

In plan, the building opens up to the north, and the open plan kitchen, dining living and covered alfresco areas on the ground floor and are filled with northern light throughout the day.

Views to the rear yard and pool are provided throughout the house from the generous internal areas providing a seamless experience of space. The private areas are separated from the public areas by architectural cues and clever planning.

The team at Sydesign worked on this residence from concept design to the resolution of construction details.
